Its really neat though it focuses a lot more on the punk/D.I.Y. fashion scene than on the goth band groupie stuff that the pictoral you linked to does. Its readily available in the US from Amazon or, probably even your local super-conglomerate book store chain.

Also, if you two ever come to Osaka, remind me to show you all Ame-Mura.

Kelly was telling me about that book the other day. She says her friend Nickie had it. Sounds interesting. I think Japan just lapped us again, maybe even double-lapped us if those are 3 to 5 years old.

that these pics are about 3-5 years old. Most of the kids featured here are mimicking the dress of the band Malice Mizer and/or Dir en Grey, which are a part of the Japanese visual punk/goth rock scene.
If you’re interested in the Harajuku scene, there’s a brilliant photo book by Shoichi Aoki called Fruits that is a compilation of photos taken for the Japanese magazine of the same name – which covers avant garde fashion in Japan.

Then adds spoilers and mufflers, adorns it with leather and chrome, and sets it on fire.
